Hawk-headed Parrots, also known as Red-Fan Parrots, originate from the Amazon rainforest. When kept as a pet they typically bond to one person only and require a lot of handling and a patient owner. They have gorgeous elongated neck feathers that can be raised to form an elaborate fan. If you own a Red-Fan Parrot, you may be able to save on air conditioning in summer months…well…maybe!! ;)
